Hey there, last 14 days have been the most dramatic days of my life. And today i stand here happy, smiling at my bgs results. Here i'll try to summarize the prime events of the last 14 days.
December 1: Dad forces me to take up bgs test. For my disbelief results came out to be 315.
December 2: Then i tried to stop feeling sorry for myself and decided to battle it out. Watched "Simply Raw"[movie, i followed a similar regime], spoke to few friends who have D[they helped me out immensely], took inspiration from dad[ has D from past 22 years, today he takes one tablet everyday and now has turned into a fitness freak].
So, this evening visited my doc. He adviced 5 units of insulin shots twice a day and a couple of tablets. I requested him to give me 15 days, so that i can follow "Simply Raw" regime and try to bring my blood sugar to normal.
My target: I put up a target for myself. On Dec 8th i wanted my bgs to be around 200 and on dec 15th i wanted my bgs to be around 140.
December 3rd to December 7th: Extensive workout session with dad twice a day, 1 hour each. 70% raw food 30 % chapati and baked veggies. Quit rice completely. 5 kms cycling 3 times a week. And sprinting occasionally.
December 8th: Finally the Judgement day arrives. Previous night me and my family had decided that, if my bgs results are not satisfactory, then take insulin shots and medications as the doc had advised.
BGS Results: Finally, dad gives me the envelope containing me bgs results. I ask him how much it is? He says "350". I felt sad and shouted "Why?". Then dad says "Open the envelope kiddo". I open it, to my disbelief it is "191" And then, i start behaving like Rocky Balboa for the rest of the day
December 8th to december 13th: This week was quite a stressful one i have to say. Even though my workout regime was satisfactory, i missed the ideal diet a few times. And did pump up my workout sessions. Everytime i got any time i walked. By december 13th i had already given up all hopes and had already decided that my bgs will be over 200 and had already made up my mind to take insluin shots and medications.
December 14th: So, the judgement day had arrived yet again. And today i had set up mind already that i had to take insulin and medicines. I gave my bgs test, acouple of hours later went to collect the result. I opened the envelope, to my disbelief it was "130" and urine test was blood "NIL". I did not show any kind of emotions in the lab. I came home and then started jumping and dancing. And the best part my mum joined me too. And then we hi-fived. Called up dad and told him about the result, he was glad too.
Next target: To reach 95 on december 22nd. And i say, "i'll definitely do it"
